A great way to touch base with your plenet and things that should be precious with, some comfort

Just back from a 3 night stay in the Shepherd's Hut for 2 with my partner and our two dogs.Having read alot of the reviews, I'm surprised that there are any low ratings. The campsite is exactly what you'd expect - beautiful and peaceful. If people are expecting all mod cons then I'd suggest you've come to the wrong place - it's an eco camp but also caters with some of the basics like electricity, hot water a WiFi (admittedly there was decent mobile data on 3 too) . Yes, there is a very small amount of farm traffic and occasional shooting for pheasants but that's a circumstance of being in Glenshee rather than the campsite. We also enjoyed waking up to the chickens and the inquisitive glare of the llamas! The hut itself was beautifully restored and very cosy. Despite the awful weather, the stove log burner kept us warm throughout the night. In terms of facilities, there were plenty of toilets and showers, more than most similarly sized campsites I may add. Although we never used the bothy, it looked well stocked with cutlery, pots and pans should you want to eat/cook there. Also thought the wheelbarrows to get your things to/from the car park was a neat touch as there is nothing worse than lugging your things to/from the site. We had a great time and Simon made it clear that if we had any questions, just to ask, whilst at the same time giving us the peace and quiet that we came for. Good times!

Fantastic view! Extremely cosy Romantic Pod! Great service! Price is according to common rates for places like this. Clearly everybody who gives less than 5 stars is coming here with the wrong expectations. Read their website and you have all the information needed on what to expect. To all campers who rated this camp poorly, remember you are in true beautiful Scottish Nature! What else do you need! We are definitely going back! Thanks for a great end to our holiday! Greetings from Hamburg:)

Amazing place and awesome views. Very welcoming owners who are incredibly helpful and had provided so much more than we had expected. Will definitely be going back for another adventure!

We visited as a group of 4, a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The location was fantastic, beautiful views in every direction. Perfect evenings for star gazing by the fire pit. Facilities were great, still had that camping feel but with heating which was much appreciated. We stayed in the romantic pods and really enjoyed it. They were homely and snug with super comfy beds and lovely decor.Definitely recommend :)
